How do you visualise something as intangible as family dynamics? This two-day data visualisation assignment explored the question through the familiar setting of an Indian family dining table.

Using the thali as a visual framework, I mapped family members through food-based metaphors, translating personality, habits and preferences into visual attributes. Flavours represented personality, plate arrangements reflected emotional closeness, patterns and colours distinguished age groups, while cutlery indicated communication preferences.

The result was a visual narrative that brought together personal anecdotes, cultural references and family relationships on one shared table.
